The assets of the park


To surround the assets of this cultural space of Agongointo, it is sufficient to pay attention to the reactions its first visitors who reached the site at the time of the works of enhancement. They have been seduced by the underground shelters whose construction reveals ingenuity and unbelievable knowledge for that period (XVIIIth century)

The second appeal of the park is constituted by the temples and altars of voodoo that are the main contact with the local community of which some members continue practicing traditional religions. These sacred places are enlivened periodically by the believers with songs and dances, prayers and offerings to the divinities.

In the extremity south of the park is the butterflies’ garden, main innovation of the enhancement program. On this space of a hectare, are maintained of the local flowers around of which fly butterflies of various color, in the comings and goings and oscillations that make them difficult to catch but this creates an ambiance of a rare brightness.
